it was until i put him onto his new chair, that i realise, it doesn’t matter whether he can lay hands on stuff.. as long as it is within reach of his mouth, that matter goes INTO his mouth..

Joash is Turning 5 Months Old SOOOOOON!

Dear fat boy Jo is quickly turning 5months old=)

Can’t help but to post these happy photos of him!

Now, he has a pretty sturdy neck, and is able to support himself while lying on his stomach. The only problem? He is not quite the good flipper we tot he will be. He still needs some help to turn his lower body over. All of us in the family attribute that to his heavy bum.

“I Feel Out of My Depth”… ??

Last week was really quite a challenge.. I mean the lack of sleep is 1 thing..  but pushing myself to do something that I had never done before, putting on responsibilities which I have no way of assuring success… It was UNSETTLING..
Ps. Paul said that a growth environment  is uncomfortable. People will misjudge your motives.. misinterpret your actions.. and there will be MISCOMMUNICATION… dread..
But I was very encouraged.. after the services.. Spring is here. Time to put away the winter clothes.. Let’s  see where all these will lead to..
i was also very provoked by what someone said, “UNgrateful people makes u question yourself, why do you even bother to be nice” True, very true.. But that shouldn’t change my convictions about being nice… we have all benefitted from someone else’ acts of nice-ness.. tat should be reason enough for us to be NICER to people. I am a firm believer of “you reap what you sow” or what my sis will say “Karma”, so if we continually sow NICE-NESS to others, it WILL eventually come back to us..
Well.. all these are #justsaying (the above too long to tweet)

It’s a New Beginning

Recently, Kel started at his new job. For the past 2 years or so, I have had the luxury of having a husband fetch me to n back from work. But as his new job requires him to start at 8.30am, I can no longer stick to my previous lifestyle.

So I am officially, a drive-to-work-myself-and-fetch-baby-to-mum’s-early-in-the-morn Joyce…

It is only day 2.. and i am feeling it already.. yes, i am so spoilt..

Anyway, i’ve realised that having a baby means many many new beginning… not only do I have to wake up early, I have to ensure that Joash is comfortable sitting by himself at the rear part of the car… in a CAR-SEAT..

Typically, for a baby of 4months, the car seat got to be placed back facing, and that is for a less than 10kg baby.. but cos Jo is really big and it doesn’t help that our car is a hatchback.. we placed the car seat, front facing.. (don’t worry, babies above 9kg can sit in that manner)

So, this is Joash… in his new car seat.. going through everything new and achieving new milestones, together with his mummy.

As you can see, he’s a happy boy while lifting his legs…

3 Month Old Joash

Time flies, I have been a mummy for 3 months already… and Joash has really grown very big very quickly.. At 3 months, he’s 8kg and 63cm long! No wonder all the clothes we bought him, don’t really fit anymore..

Yes, you get the idea..

Well, many people has been asking me how has motherhood been so far, and if i’m enjoying my long maternity leave.. initially, my reply was among, “oh, it’s tiring”, “perpetual lack of sleep”, or “busy taking care of baby”.. BUT, I must say that, IT IS GETTING BETTER EACH DAY. I am very thankful that Jo has started to sleep through the night for about a week. This gives Kel & I proper night rest that has deluded us for the past 2.5 months. And although Joash demands to be carried all the time (else he will play the game of persistence by crying till u carry him), once we pick him up, he will stop whining/shouting/crying. And though I understand the rationale of not giving in to the baby all the time, I gave in to carry Jo simply because it is the one thing that I do well. Me carrying him and he stops crying.. is too good a result to forgo..

While Joash is growing too quick for comfort, Kel & I had been busy moving house.. yes, it’s exciting to buy furniture/decide on the interior design.. but moving house is truly a pain.. And I am very proud to say that I survived 2 major transitions in my life in a span of 3months; having a baby and moving house. Ironically, the satisfaction I get from both is the same, seeing Joash smiling when he wakes in the morning and coming back to a pretty home is bliss..

I shall post more photos of my home soon.. i got to go now, cos Jo is “eh eh eh eh –ing” again for me to carry him! =)
